Our open house is held in conjunction with the Southern Oregon Live Steamer Club, The Southern Oregon Large Scale Trains, and Southern Oregon Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society, the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from April through October. Trains run from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Each November, on the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving, RVMRRC along with the Southwest Oregon Large Scale Trains, the Southern Oregon Chapter of the NRHS and the Southern Oregon Live Steamers host The Rogue Valley Railroad Show  at the Medford National Guard Armory.  In addition to the static and operating displays inside the armory, the local railroad, Central Oregon & Pacific [CORP] in the past has had an engine on a siding directly across the street. Even the Southern Oregon Chapter / National Railroad Historical Society one year decided to display their #8 engine on the siding as well. Vendors from a number of states also participate offering a wide assortment of model railroad and railroad related goodies.

Each Thursday night (unless holiday, excluding November & December) the club has an operating session (with an occasional work night replacing the operating session). Train assignments are made at 7:20pm. After train crews check the manifest and their equipment, first trains roll out at 7:30pm. Currently operations are on hold until our permanent layout becomes closer to being finished. but for now, we use our modular layout of 35 modules with over 3 1/2 scale miles of mainline trackage. Construction of a permanent HO scale layout is in the works and should be finished sometime in the near future.
